I started baking with my Grandad when I was a little girl.

He taught me everything I know today... tips, tricks, hints!

We had a very close relationship with one another and he was like a Father to me.

I was always a 'Grandad's girl' and I went everywhere with him. 

Some of my very first memories are of me and my Grandad in the kitchen attempting to remake the famous Morecambe and Wise breakfast sketch!

 

My Grandad sadly passed away in February 2016 after a very long and difficult battle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, which is a type of Cancer.

Roughly a year on, I became more creative with my cakes and started to think about selling them.

Cakes by Mel was then established in 2017.

​

Today, I hope to continue my Grandad's legacy through something both he and I loved to do together.

Today, CBM specialises in Disney and Marvel bakes as this is something we always loved together!
